Know your timelines for planning a destination wedding to ensure you have enough time to prepare and take care of all of the details, both big and small. Here's what we recommend:

12-18 months out: Secure the date

  • Narrow down your destination and resort first, and then determine if your date is available. If it is, secure it as soon as possible because dates can book up far in advance.

  • Flexibility is key - consider booking a weekday if the weekend you want is booked up.

  • Determine if you want to be the only wedding happening that day, or if you’re okay with the resort having multiple ceremonies on the same day.

  • We’ll set up a room block and determine deadlines for dropping rooms & providing final numbers to the resort.

9-12 months out: Choose your wedding package

  • Choose the wedding package that best fits your dreams & vision! Some resorts offer free wedding packages, while others charge a fee.

  • Make sure to look through packages to determine which one checks all of your boxes.

3-9 months out: Invite guests

  • Once the date is locked in & the room block is created, start inviting your guests. Give them plenty of time to secure time off from work, book flights, get or renew passports, and set aside money for deposits & make payments along the way (if that is an option).

  • Consider a group excursion or activity while everyone is in attendance! Whether it’s a catamaran cruise or a bonfire on the beach, find out what fun extras are available to create amazing memories with your favorite people.

1-2 months out: Finalize details

  • If you're working with an onsite wedding coordinator, make sure you know what paperwork needs to be filed & when; get a list of any last minute payments (including gratuities for wedding officiant, coordinator, etc.) that will need to be paid, and anything else that needs to be done before your wedding.

  • Make sure you have your travel and wedding documents handy, fill out any necessary forms, and get ready for the big day!
